Hi there,

Todays card is a technique from a tutorial video I watch from Jennifer McGuire called Pearlized Ink Blending, when I saw this technique I just could’nt wait to give it a try.

In the video Jennifer has used this technique on a scrapbooking page, (which looks so stunning).

I thought I would start by just trying it on a card. This is much inspired by her scrapbook page.

I’m lov’in the pearl sheen effect to the card. Unfortunately the sheen has’nt come up very well in this photo, but it does looks very sparkley. I’m really happy that this technique actually worked for me, usually when I try something for the first time on most occasions I normally stuff it up.

Anyway here is the link to the video if you would like to see how the pearlized Ink blending is done.

Card Supplies:

Cardstock: White. Ink: Distress Ink – bundled sage, spiced marmalade and worn lipstick. Stamp: Stamp It -Foliage Flurry. Other: Ribbon, Carl Punches - Butterfly, large and small. Rhinestones – Green. Versa Mark Dazzle stamp pad, white embossing powder, Heat gun and Perfect pearls mixed with some water in a mini mister bottle.

Thanks for looking!

Hello,

This weeks colour challenge from Makeesha are great earthy tones, which actually made me stop and think how I would go using these colours. I decided on versatile card that could be given to a male or a female.

Here is the colour combo:

Here is my card:

I chose to do the emboss resist technique on this card and using the challenge colours to cover the image and then just matting and layering the stamped image in the same colours. I really had’nt any idea of how the layout of the card was going to turn out and after fussing about with it, I’m quite happy with the result.

Thanks for looking!!

Cindy :)

Hi there,

My husband is a bit of a VW Kombi fanatic and it has sort of rubbed on to me and the kids as every time we are out and about we kombi spot.  You wouldn’t think it but Kombi’s are quite popular in the papercrafting industry and I was amazed at how many stamps, pattern paper even chipboard I found with kombi’s on them.

This card involves a Kombi, I made this for my husbands birthday. So here it is:

He loved the card and he was also very happy with all the collectable Kombi’s he was given for his birthday to add to his collection.

Card Supplies:

Cardstock: Stampin’ Up! – Night of Navy. Ink: Night of Navy. Stamp: October Afternoon – Clear Stamps Road Map. October Afternoon Pattern Paper – Night Light. Other: Circle Cutters, Rubons words, Stampin’ Write Marker – Black, Punch – Fiskas Upper Crest.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello,

I have been playing around with some stamping techniques and this card I’m sharing today involves the emboss resist technique with some distress ink.

Here is the card:

I have embossed this beautiful stamp from Hero Arts – Silhoutte Grass, stamped it onto pattern paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder, then I have used two distress inks blending them together to cover the embossed stamped image to make it pop. ( the paper was white before the ink was applied). Then I stamped out some butterflies in brown ink and covered them with some glitter. Placed them onto the stamped image and scattered some pearls around the image as well. As a finishing touch I added this chocolate chip ribbon from Stampin’ Up!

Thanks for looking!

Cindy :)

Card Supplies:

Stamp:  Hero Arts – Silhouette Grass. Cardstock: Stampin’ Up! - Very vanilla, Chocolate chip and Mellow Moss. The first card is of this cute little sewing machine stamp by Maya Road. I have used this sketch from Keesh’s Inkspirations Sketch Challenge  from a couple of weeks back.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

The second card is of this gorgeous little mouse stamp from House Mouse Designs, it is so cute I couldn’t resist buying it. I have also used the pattern paper from the Material Girl Kit.

Hi again,

Just a quick post to say I’m glad to be back online, the last couples of weeks have been a bit of a nightmare, I have had some issues with the web hosting I was going through and had to move to a new one.

I am looking forward to getting back to posting again and joining in on some challenges again. I hope to be sharing some of what I have created lately in a few days.

I would just like to say a big  “Thank you” to all the lovely people that send such lovely emails and leave comments and regularly view my blog. I do really appreciate it and feel very encouraged.

Thanks for looking!!!

Cindy :)

Hi there,

We are having some unbelievable weather here in Perth, Western Australia a big storm hit early hours of the morning causing damage all over the city to peoples homes. I thank God we haven’t had much damage to our property. With all this stormy weather about  and having to stay indoors gives one a good excuse to do some stamping.  This card I have made is for this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge .

Here is the sketch:

I don’t actually make many tall cards, but I had this gorgeous stamp from C C Designs Apple Emma and Sassafraslass Pattern Paper layed out on my desk to make a card and I thought this sketch was a perfect match for them.

So here is my card:

Card Supplies:

Cardstock: Stampin’ Up! – Tempting Turquoise, Textured cardstock, Whisper White and Yoyo Yellow. Pattern Paper: Sassafraslass – Fresh Pick. Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Black. Other: Gingham Ribbon Red, Stampin’ Write Marker – Real Red and Copic Markers.
