<p>Hi there,</p>
<p>Well this time I have a very good excuse for neglecting my blog, three months ago I became quite unwell with a fever and a temperature of 40.5. I was admitted into hospital through the emergency department and ended up spending a week in hospital with an infection in my leg. After coming out of hospital to recover, I spent 8 weeks unable to walk and the infection got worse.</p>
<p>Finally the worst of it is over and now I am able to walk again but there is still infection in my leg, which obviously is going to take me some time to get over completely.</p>
<p>It is so amazing how something like this can just happen and knock you down completely. I am so glad that I have such an amazing husband that not only helped take care of me, but held our family together as well.</p>
<p>Well enough about me, obviously I haven&#8217;t been able to craft alot while I was unwell, but recently as I felt able and we have had so many birthdays lately I got inspired to create some cards and gifts. </p>
<p>This first card is one I made for my brother-inlaws birthday which was back in october, he is in to boating and fishing so I thought this cute stamp from la la land &#8220;fisherman Luka&#8221; would suit his card well.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Fishing-Luka.gif" rel="lightbox-1420"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1423" title="Fishing-Luka" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Fishing-Luka.gif" alt="" width="400" height="398" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I used copic markers to colour luka and the pattern paper is from Kaiser Craft, the punch, brads and birthday stamp are all from Stampin&#8217; Up!.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This next card is for my friend, her birthday was when I was in hospital so she didn&#8217;t mind receiving her gift very belated.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Tilda-Strawberry.gif" rel="lightbox-1420"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1432" title="Tilda-Strawberry" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Tilda-Strawberry.gif" alt="" width="320" height="431" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">For this card I have used Strawberry Tilda, this gorgeous die from die-namics Decorative Oval Doily and this cute strawberry paper which I found in my stash (sorry can&#8217;t remember were I got it from). The cardstock and stamp are from Stampin&#8217; Up!.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I also wrapped her gift  with some chocolate&#8217;s in the strawberry theme, here is  photo:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Tilda-strawberry-chocolates.gif" rel="lightbox-1420"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1434" title="Tilda-strawberry-chocolates" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Tilda-strawberry-chocolates.gif" alt="" width="420" height="410" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I also made a card for my friends husband, I&#8217;m not really happy the way this photo turned out but I will show it anyway.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Up-Up-away.gif" rel="lightbox-1420"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1443" title="Up-Up-&amp;-away" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Up-Up-away.gif" alt="" width="320" height="433" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p>This set Up Up &amp; Away from Stampin&#8217; Up! is such a great versitle stamp which is great for male cards as I don&#8217;t have a lot of stamps that I can use for male cards.</p>
<p>I have themed his gift of chocolates to match the card:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Up-Up-Away-Chocolates.gif" rel="lightbox-1420"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1444" title="Up-Up-Away-Chocolates" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Up-Up-Away-Chocolates.gif" alt="" width="270" height="414" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Anyway I think thats all I have for today sorry for such a long winded post, maybe 2012 will be a better year for sharing my creativity.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Untill next time!</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>

<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">His party was themed on trucks and diggers, so I thought this was good opportunity to pull out the &#8220; by land &#8221; stamp set from Stampin&#8217; Up! This stamp set goes back a few years, but it&#8217;s such a great stamp set for making boy cards and layouts.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Unfortunately we still didn&#8217;t get to see our nephew on his birthday as our family is still down with sickness, but I&#8217;m sure he liked his present and card.</p>

<p>Hi again,</p>
<p>Well I guess you didn&#8217;t think I would be back so soon lol&#8230;&#8230;.</p>
<p>Today I thought I would share the card I made for my father-inlaw for Fathers Day, which I have cased from one of my very talented good friends.</p>
<p>It was my friend Cheryl that inspired me to actually purchase the Tim Holtz- Umbrella Man die and I have really fallen in love with it.</p>
<p>So here is the card I made:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Fathers-Day.gif" rel="lightbox-1316"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1319" title="Fathers-Day" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Fathers-Day.gif" alt="" width="300" height="402" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">To make the card first I used distress ink &#8211; tumbled glass using the distressing tool I competely covered my white cardstock with it, then cut out my umbrella man die setting a side the die cut and using the left over cut out, to use as a mask and then in broken china randomly added the umbrella man by inking the mask over the card covered in tumble glass. Then I took this piece of cardstock using Tim Holtz embossing folder &#8211; Patchwork,  ran it through the big shot.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Using broken china distress ink I went over the tumbled glass ink and around the edges of the embossed cardstock and then added  basic grey ink over the top and edges again. I then took my cut out umbrella man and inked in the same process as I had done with the background card and then ran it through the bigshot with the same embossing folder and reapeated the inking. </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Then I just inked up the word stamp dad in basic grey stamped it on white cardstock and matted it to some navy cardstock. I adhered the umbrella man with dimensionals to make him pop out. I really hope that all made sense.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I was really exctited about making this card as I really love the effect that it has and I was so happy with the way it turned out.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for looking!</p>

<p>Hello,</p>
<p>Well what can I say. I can make up all the excuses in the world at why I have neglected my blog, but I don&#8217;t really think you would all want to read it. So how about I just show some of the things I have been up to.</p>
<p>In my crafting world for the last  few months I haven&#8217;t really been creating a lot, but I do have some cards I would like to share.</p>
<p>First up I was at &#8220;Stamp It&#8221; one of the stamping crafting stores I like to shop at and they were participating in a great cause &#8220;Cards for Soldiers&#8221; so they asked me if I could do some cards up for the cause.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">So here is what I came up with:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cards-for-Soldiers-butterfl.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1295" title="Cards-for-Soldiers-butterfl" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cards-for-Soldiers-butterfl.gif" alt="" width="320" height="429" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I kept the layout of the cards simple as I they didn&#8217;t want the cards to be bulky. I also just made multiples of the same card as this was just easier to get them made quickly.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/butterfly-stack-CFS.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1296" title="butterfly-stack-CFS" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/butterfly-stack-CFS.gif" alt="" width="450" height="372" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I also made a christmas card.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/CFS-Chirstmas-.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1307" title="CFS-Chirstmas-" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/CFS-Chirstmas-.gif" alt="" width="300" height="420" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">and here is a photo of how I packaged them to send.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>

<p> Hi again,</p>
<p>Well it has been a long time between posts. I think if  I was going to go into why its been so long, one blog post wouldn&#8217;t be enough lol!!!</p>
<p>Anyway what can I say sometimes lifes ups and downs just get in the way and before you know it months have past by.</p>
<p>I haven&#8217;t stopped creating but just haven&#8217;t got my act together to share any of my crafting.</p>
<p>I recently purchased some Magnolia stamps, I know I am behind with the times but it actually took me a long time to actually fall in love with them, but now I think I&#8217;m hooked.</p>
<p>This first card is of  Traveling Tilda and I have sat her on the Spring Fence. I have coloured Tilda with Copic Markers ( I&#8217;m still learning how to colour with copics). But I am happy with the way my colouring turned out, I just added some pattern paper with a dolie placed on top and a punched border to finish the card off.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/tilda-on-fence.gif" rel="lightbox-1259"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1271" title="tilda-on-fence" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/tilda-on-fence.gif" alt="" width="400" height="401" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This second card is of Tilda wants a hug, this time I have placed Tilda in front of the fence.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Tilda-wants-a-hug.gif" rel="lightbox-1259"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1279" title="Tilda-wants-a-hug" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Tilda-wants-a-hug.gif" alt="" width="300" height="411" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Magnolia.gif"></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I do have some more cards to share with you that I have done I just have to get around to photographing them, so hopefully I will get them posted soon.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for looking!!!</p>

<p>Hi again,</p>
<p>I am still here, the last 2 weeks I have been in bed sick with pneumonia, hasn&#8217;t been very nice at all <img src='http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' />  so unfortunately my crafty mojo has been nothing.</p>
<p>I was very excitied today to recieve my first order of goodies from the new Stampin&#8217; Up! catalogue so I thought I would share a pic of what I got.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Stampin-Up-Orders.jpg" rel="lightbox-1093"><img class="size-full wp-image-1094 aligncenter" title="Stampin-Up-Orders" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Stampin-Up-Orders.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="379" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p>I picked the stamp sets I liked the most to get first and I ordered all the new In Colour range in the inks, cardstock and markers. I also ordered some of the Sizzix dies and some brads and just love this new owl punch.</p>
<p>Mind you I probably could have ordered just about the whole catalogue but I think I was pretty tame this time in ordering, now I just have to make some time so I can start playing with all this stuff.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for stopping by!</p>

<p>Hi there,</p>
<p>On the weekend we celebrated our nephew Jamisons 1st birthday, he is such a cutie pie and a real laugh as well. The theme for the party was under the sea, so I thought I would keep up with the theme by making a card to suit.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p>Here is the card:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/1st-Birthday.jpg" rel="lightbox-1076"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1077" title="1st-Birthday" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/1st-Birthday.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="482" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">When making this card it turns out that I managed to make it a touch and feel card as babies love to feel the textures on things. I added cotton wool to the clouds, bubble eyes and glitter to the waves. I think this crab turned out quite cute. I think Jamison did as well, he pointed at it when he saw it.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">For his gift we gave him a Maxi Climb play set, which he loved. Here is a photo of him playing peek a boo with my husband in it.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Peek-a-boo.jpg" rel="lightbox-1076"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1085" title="Peek-a-boo" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Peek-a-boo.jpg" alt="" width="350" height="523" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">He is such a happy little boy and such a joy to have in our family, we love him lots.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for looking!!!!</p>

Hi there,
Today I am sharing a card that I have made using a past Mojo Monday Sketch. I really loved the Rustic Rooster stamp set from Stampin&#8217; Up!, which sadly now has retired. I found this great background stamp &#8220;Hex Net&#8221; from Prima Marketing Inc and for this card I have used the masking technique.
