Stamping Projects

Hi there,

Well this time I have a very good excuse for neglecting my blog, three months ago I became quite unwell with a fever and a temperature of 40.5. I was admitted into hospital through the emergency department and ended up spending a week in hospital with an infection in my leg. After coming out of hospital to recover, I spent 8 weeks unable to walk and the infection got worse.

Finally the worst of it is over and now I am able to walk again but there is still infection in my leg, which obviously is going to take me some time to get over completely.

It is so amazing how something like this can just happen and knock you down completely. I am so glad that I have such an amazing husband that not only helped take care of me, but held our family together as well.

Well enough about me, obviously I haven’t been able to craft alot while I was unwell, but recently as I felt able and we have had so many birthdays lately I got inspired to create some cards and gifts.

This first card is one I made for my brother-inlaws birthday which was back in october, he is in to boating and fishing so I thought this cute stamp from la la land “fisherman Luka” would suit his card well.

I used copic markers to colour luka and the pattern paper is from Kaiser Craft, the punch, brads and birthday stamp are all from Stampin’ Up!.

This next card is for my friend, her birthday was when I was in hospital so she didn’t mind receiving her gift very belated.

For this card I have used Strawberry Tilda, this gorgeous die from die-namics Decorative Oval Doily and this cute strawberry paper which I found in my stash (sorry can’t remember were I got it from). The cardstock and stamp are from Stampin’ Up!.

I also wrapped her gift  with some chocolate’s in the strawberry theme, here is  photo:

I also made a card for my friends husband, I’m not really happy the way this photo turned out but I will show it anyway.

This set Up Up & Away from Stampin’ Up! is such a great versitle stamp which is great for male cards as I don’t have a lot of stamps that I can use for male cards.

I have themed his gift of chocolates to match the card:

Anyway I think thats all I have for today sorry for such a long winded post, maybe 2012 will be a better year for sharing my creativity.

Untill next time!

Cindy :)

Hello,

Still on the boy theme, the cards I’m sharing today are for my nephew.

He turned two yesterday and his party was last weekend, but unfortunately due to some sickness and other commitments we weren’t able to go.

This first card I made was just with some scrap pattern paper and cardstock. I sent this card in the mail to rsvp.

His party was themed on trucks and diggers, so I thought this was good opportunity to pull out the “ by land ” stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This stamp set goes back a few years, but it’s such a great stamp set for making boy cards and layouts.

Unfortunately we still didn’t get to see our nephew on his birthday as our family is still down with sickness, but I’m sure he liked his present and card.

Card supplies: Stamp Sets: Stampin’ Up! ”By Land” (retired) and “On Your Birthday”. Cardstock – Stampin’ Up!: Real Red, Marina Mist, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White. Ink: Basic Black. Markers – Satmpin’ Up!: Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Basic Black. Pattern Paper: Fancy Pants – Too the Moon Collection. Dies – Die-namics Simply Scallops Large and Spellbinders-Sprightly Sprockets.

Hi again,

Well I guess you didn’t think I would be back so soon lol…….

Today I thought I would share the card I made for my father-inlaw for Fathers Day, which I have cased from one of my very talented good friends.

It was my friend Cheryl that inspired me to actually purchase the Tim Holtz- Umbrella Man die and I have really fallen in love with it.

So here is the card I made:

To make the card first I used distress ink – tumbled glass using the distressing tool I competely covered my white cardstock with it, then cut out my umbrella man die setting a side the die cut and using the left over cut out, to use as a mask and then in broken china randomly added the umbrella man by inking the mask over the card covered in tumble glass. Then I took this piece of cardstock using Tim Holtz embossing folder – Patchwork,  ran it through the big shot.

Using broken china distress ink I went over the tumbled glass ink and around the edges of the embossed cardstock and then added  basic grey ink over the top and edges again. I then took my cut out umbrella man and inked in the same process as I had done with the background card and then ran it through the bigshot with the same embossing folder and reapeated the inking.

Then I just inked up the word stamp dad in basic grey stamped it on white cardstock and matted it to some navy cardstock. I adhered the umbrella man with dimensionals to make him pop out. I really hope that all made sense.

I was really exctited about making this card as I really love the effect that it has and I was so happy with the way it turned out.

Hello,

Well what can I say. I can make up all the excuses in the world at why I have neglected my blog, but I don’t really think you would all want to read it. So how about I just show some of the things I have been up to.

In my crafting world for the last  few months I haven’t really been creating a lot, but I do have some cards I would like to share.

First up I was at “Stamp It” one of the stamping crafting stores I like to shop at and they were participating in a great cause “Cards for Soldiers” so they asked me if I could do some cards up for the cause.

So here is what I came up with:

I kept the layout of the cards simple as I they didn’t want the cards to be bulky. I also just made multiples of the same card as this was just easier to get them made quickly.

I also made a christmas card.

and here is a photo of how I packaged them to send.

I normal just make cards for friends and family but I really enjoyed making these cards knowing they are going to put a smile and some joy into a soldiers loved one.

Thanks for looking!

 Hi again,

Well it has been a long time between posts. I think if  I was going to go into why its been so long, one blog post wouldn’t be enough lol!!!

Anyway what can I say sometimes lifes ups and downs just get in the way and before you know it months have past by.

I haven’t stopped creating but just haven’t got my act together to share any of my crafting.

I recently purchased some Magnolia stamps, I know I am behind with the times but it actually took me a long time to actually fall in love with them, but now I think I’m hooked.

This first card is of  Traveling Tilda and I have sat her on the Spring Fence. I have coloured Tilda with Copic Markers ( I’m still learning how to colour with copics). But I am happy with the way my colouring turned out, I just added some pattern paper with a dolie placed on top and a punched border to finish the card off.

This second card is of Tilda wants a hug, this time I have placed Tilda in front of the fence.

I do have some more cards to share with you that I have done I just have to get around to photographing them, so hopefully I will get them posted soon.

Thanks for looking!!!

Hi again,

I am still here, the last 2 weeks I have been in bed sick with pneumonia, hasn’t been very nice at all :(  so unfortunately my crafty mojo has been nothing.

I was very excitied today to recieve my first order of goodies from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue so I thought I would share a pic of what I got.

I picked the stamp sets I liked the most to get first and I ordered all the new In Colour range in the inks, cardstock and markers. I also ordered some of the Sizzix dies and some brads and just love this new owl punch.

Mind you I probably could have ordered just about the whole catalogue but I think I was pretty tame this time in ordering, now I just have to make some time so I can start playing with all this stuff.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cindy :)

Hi there,

On the weekend we celebrated our nephew Jamisons 1st birthday, he is such a cutie pie and a real laugh as well. The theme for the party was under the sea, so I thought I would keep up with the theme by making a card to suit.

Here is the card:

When making this card it turns out that I managed to make it a touch and feel card as babies love to feel the textures on things. I added cotton wool to the clouds, bubble eyes and glitter to the waves. I think this crab turned out quite cute. I think Jamison did as well, he pointed at it when he saw it.

For his gift we gave him a Maxi Climb play set, which he loved. Here is a photo of him playing peek a boo with my husband in it.

He is such a happy little boy and such a joy to have in our family, we love him lots.

Thanks for looking!!!!
