<p>Hello,</p>
<p>Well what can I say. I can make up all the excuses in the world at why I have neglected my blog, but I don&#8217;t really think you would all want to read it. So how about I just show some of the things I have been up to.</p>
<p>In my crafting world for the last  few months I haven&#8217;t really been creating a lot, but I do have some cards I would like to share.</p>
<p>First up I was at &#8220;Stamp It&#8221; one of the stamping crafting stores I like to shop at and they were participating in a great cause &#8220;Cards for Soldiers&#8221; so they asked me if I could do some cards up for the cause.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">So here is what I came up with:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cards-for-Soldiers-butterfl.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1295" title="Cards-for-Soldiers-butterfl" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Cards-for-Soldiers-butterfl.gif" alt="" width="320" height="429" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I kept the layout of the cards simple as I they didn&#8217;t want the cards to be bulky. I also just made multiples of the same card as this was just easier to get them made quickly.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/butterfly-stack-CFS.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1296" title="butterfly-stack-CFS" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/butterfly-stack-CFS.gif" alt="" width="450" height="372" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I also made a christmas card.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/CFS-Chirstmas-.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1307" title="CFS-Chirstmas-" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/CFS-Chirstmas-.gif" alt="" width="300" height="420" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">and here is a photo of how I packaged them to send.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Packaged-CFS.gif" rel="lightbox-1292"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1308" title="Packaged-CFS" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Packaged-CFS.gif" alt="" width="420" height="310" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I normal just make cards for friends and family but I really enjoyed making these cards knowing they are going to put a smile and some joy into a soldiers loved one.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for looking!</p>

<p>Hi again,</p>
<p>The card I&#8217;m sharing today I made for my dear Mum it was her 65th birthday yesterday. The family got together last night for dinner as well as some yummy continental torte birthdaycake for dessert. Everyone including Mum had a great night and she really loved this card.</p>
<p>I saw this beautiful paper rose turtorial on the <a href="http://www.kaisercraft.net/blog/12849/">Kaisercraft blog </a>the other day, which I just had to have a go at making one, which came together perfectly for this birthday card for Mum.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Here is the card:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Happy-Birthday.jpg" rel="lightbox-1004"><img class="size-full wp-image-1005 aligncenter" title="Happy-Birthday" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Happy-Birthday.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="369" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">  </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Here is a closer look at the paper rose:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Shimmer-Rose.jpg" rel="lightbox-1004"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1006" title="Shimmer-Rose" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Shimmer-Rose.jpg" alt="" width="450" height="328" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">To make the paper roses I have used the flower from the Cricut Cartridge-Mini Monograms, I cut 4 flowers ranging from 2½&#8221; &#8211; 1¼&#8221; in size. Then I screwed them up into a ball and flatten them back out. I roughed the edge&#8217;s with the Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser and the rubbed Distress ink over the flower and around the edges, then once I put the flower together I sprayed the whole flower with Glimmer Mist.  This closer shot of the flower has picked up the shimmer really well.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Card Supplies:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Cardstock: Stampin&#8217; Up! &#8211; Sage Shadow, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla and Whisper White. Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink &#8211; Milled Lavender. Pattern Paper: Melissa Frances &#8211; Courage and Ella. Punch: Stampin&#8217; Up! &#8211; Eyelet Border and Two Step Bird Extra Large. Nestabilities &#8211; Classic Scallop Circles. Creative Memories &#8211; Circle Cutter. Kaisercraft Rubons-Happy Birthday. Tattered Angels: Glimmer Mist &#8211; Pearl.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks for Looking!</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I have embossed this beautiful stamp from Hero Arts &#8211; Silhoutte Grass, stamped it onto pattern paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder, then I have used two distress inks blending them together to cover the embossed stamped image to make it pop. ( the paper was white before the ink was applied). Then I stamped out some butterflies in brown ink and covered them with some glitter. Placed them onto the stamped image and scattered some pearls around the image as well. As a finishing touch I added this chocolate chip ribbon from Stampin&#8217; Up!</p>

<p>Hi Again,</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Time again for another one of <a href="http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/index.php/2009/11/21/inkspirations-sketch-challenge-16/">Makeesha&#8217;s</a> challenge. This weeks challenge is a sketch. Hope you like what I have come up with this week.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Here is the sketch:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/makeesha-sketch-016.jpg" rel="lightbox-457"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-458" title="makeesha-sketch-016" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/makeesha-sketch-016.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="320" /></a></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Here is my card:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/inkspirations-sketch-challe.jpg" rel="lightbox-457"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-459" title="inkspirations-sketch-challe" src="http://www.thestampingstudio.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/inkspirations-sketch-challe.jpg" alt="" width="385" height="523" /></a></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>With this card I have used the water misting technique onto the stamp once I inked it up to give this gorgeous water colour look.</p>
<p>The circle backing the stamped image is on doesn&#8217;t show up very well in this photo, the colour I have used is Stampin&#8217; Up&#8217;s pumpkin pie to pick up the orange in the stamped image and I have used the night of navy marker to create the faux stitching around the edges of the circle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Card Recipe:</p>
<p>Stamp It: Cling On Stamp &#8211; Foliage Flurry &amp; Solid Butterfly. Penny Black Clear Stamp Words &#8211; For You. Kaleidacolor Ink &#8211; Royal Satin. Kaisercraft: Pearls. Fiskars: Scallop Punch. Stampin&#8217; Up: Cardstock &#8211; Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Night of Navy. Ink: Night of Navy. Other: Gingham Ribbon</p>
